
Jessica Leigh Anderson is the founder of Jessica Leigh Speech Therapy. She is passionate about the paediatric population and has a true love for assisting them in reaching their highest potential. Jessica qualified in 2015 as a Speech Language Pathologist at the University of Pretoria. Her thesis was published in 2016 which consisted of the translation of a paediatric developmental screening tool for parents.
Jessica completed her community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 2016 treating and assessing the paediatric population specifically. This is where Jessica found her true passion and calling to serve the paediatric population.
Jessica has been in private practice since 2017 and has thoroughly enjoyed serving the children and providing support to the families. She is passionate about working with children with developmental delays and neurological conditions, specifically autism. She is qualified in treating the neonatal population with assessing and treating feeding and swallowing difficulties. She has continued to attend courses and stay up to date in this field. Jessica is also Sequential Oral Sensory (S.O.S) Feeding Approach trained to assist with the “fussy/ picky” eaters.
Recently, Jessica has completed her level 1 PROMPT training as well as the Talk Tools training. This has really given her the new resources and brainstorming skills to treat children’s oral motor skills as well as articulation and speech skills using a holistic approach incorporating the motor learning principles.
